Job Description


The Senior Project Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships, managing HVAC, plumbing, and process system sales, and overseeing project execution and labor needs in coordination with field leadership. This role requires sound judgment, strong commitment to the business, and a high level of involvement in day-to-day operations and strategic planning.

Mentorship:
Acts as a mentor to Project Engineers and Project Coordinators.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Management & Execution
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and accountability for assigned projects.
  • Lead all phases of project management including estimating, concept engineering, proposal development, and client meetings through to job completion.
  • Manage contracts encompassing sales, procurement, and execution.
  • Coordinate labor and installation sequencing with field teams.
  • Oversee job financials: forecasting, budgeting, cost control, billing, and job cost analysis.
  • Prepare and manage project documentation: proposals, memos, contracts, change orders, and strategic communications.

Client & Team Relationship Management
  • Lead client meetings and manage the sales process through contract development.
  • Maintain professional relationships with clients, vendors, subcontractors, and industry contacts.
  • Provide leadership across departments, coordinating Engineering, Purchasing, Accounting, Construction, and Service teams throughout project execution.
  • Actively participate in internal meetings, including sales and construction reviews.
  • Organize and lead pre-construction meetings with key personnel.

Resource Management & Communication
  • Effectively leverage internal staff and department resources as needed to fulfill project and customer requirements.
  • Manage and supervise all employees assigned to each project to ensure delivery aligns with scope and expectations.
  • Mentor junior staff and contribute to recruitment, onboarding, and coaching initiatives.
  • Take part in committees and initiatives that improve technical capabilities and streamline project delivery methods.

Additional Duties:
  • Take on special assignments and responsibilities from leadership as needed to support department and organizational goals.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years of experience in estimating, design, and/or project management of HVAC projects ranging from $50K to over $100M.
  • Proven ability to work independently with strong business acumen.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Demonstrated success in business development and client retention.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and project management skills.
  • Active presence or engagement in industry or community-based organizations is a plus.
