We are seeking a highly motivated Project Engineer to support a collaborative team in managing and delivering technically complex construction projects. This role works closely with a dedicated Project Manager and plays a key part in coordinating the technical aspects of projects, ensuring clear communication across internal departments, clients, architects, vendors, and trade partners. This is a great opportunity to grow your experience in estimating, scheduling, and design within a dynamic design-build environment that leverages the latest construction technologies and BIM methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist the Project Manager with a wide range of project management tasks, including:
Drafting and editing proposals, letters, subcontracts, change orders, and other project documentation.
Supporting and maintaining project documentation such as RFIs, submittals, procurement logs, shop drawings, and other technical submissions.
Participating in and coordinating meetings with internal teams and external stakeholders, including kickoff, BIM, and scheduling meetings.
Contributing to estimating activities—performing takeoffs, soliciting vendor/subcontractor pricing, assembling bid packages, and preparing change orders.
Assisting with jobsite oversight and quality control as needed to support project progress and troubleshoot installation or coordination challenges.
Interpreting technical drawings and specifications to ensure accurate execution in the field.
Supporting procurement efforts including vendor/subcontractor buyout, tracking, and delivery logistics.
Participating in financial tracking such as labor forecasts, invoice reviews, billing preparation, and budget updates.
Assisting with project closeout processes including O&M manual development, commissioning coordination, as-built documentation, and warranty management.
Communicating regularly with the project team to identify, escalate, and resolve issues that could impact schedule or budget.
Providing technical support for planning, design, value engineering, and alternate solution reviews.
Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal departments.
Performing other duties and tasks as assigned by the supervisor or project leadership.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; Mechanical or related engineering discipline is strongly preferred.
Proven experience or internship background in construction project support, coordination, or engineering roles.
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
Familiarity with construction software tools such as Bluebeam, Smartsheet, Box, BidTracer, FastEst, IFS, or similar platforms is a plus.
Strong organizational and communication skills.
Willingness to learn, take initiative, and grow into advanced roles.
