Job Description


We are seeking an experienced QA/QC Supervisor to lead our Quality Assurance and Quality Control Project Team. This role is responsible for setting clear expectations, coaching and developing direct reports, and ensuring the First-in Inspection process minimizes fabrication and installation errors. The QA/QC Supervisor will work closely with project teams to resolve quality issues, monitor trends, and ensure all quality control measures meet company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Additionally, this role will actively audit project-specific quality plans, support project success, and contribute to quality requirement improvements.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Lead the analysis, inspection, design, and integration of quality assurance processes for assigned products and components.
  • Conduct quality engineering reviews of design documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards and company policies.
  • Apply Statistical Process Control (SPC) methods to evaluate current processes and implement improvements.
  • Collaborate with General Contractors’ Quality Assurance Managers on inspection planning, project compliance, non-conformance management, and audits.
  • Provide project quality expectations to new inspectors and ensure their training aligns with company standards.
  • Attend weekly project meetings to review upcoming activities, deadlines, and status updates.
  • Review and approve purchased materials or components, assessing vendor quality and determining future purchasing decisions.
  • Document and report quality assurance activities, identifying significant issues and recommending process improvements.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of government and industry quality assurance codes and standards.
  • Lead project-specific training sessions for teams to enhance understanding of quality expectations.
  • Develop innovative solutions for identified quality assurance challenges.
  • Supervise and mentor technical and administrative staff involved in quality assurance activities.
  • Additional duties as assigned by the Director of QA/QC in coordination with project teams.

Position Requirements:

To excel in this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

Education & Experience:
  • Associate degree or equivalent from a technical school or two-year college with 10+ years of experience in Quality Control.
  • At least 8 years of experience in Quality Control related to ASME B31 piping codes, industrial/commercial construction, fabrication, welding, and non-destructive testing.
  • At least 3 years of experience managing and leading direct reports.

Certifications:
  • Must have Certified Welding Inspector (CWI).
  • AWS QC-1 Senior Certified Welding Inspector (SCWI)
  • ICC Mechanical – Commercial Certification.

Technical Knowledge:
  • Proficiency in ASME Section IX BP&V Code and experience developing and reviewing welding procedures and qualifications.
  • Strong MS Office skills and ability to interpret technical documents, diagrams, and schedules.

Soft Skills:
  • Excellent time management, problem-solving, and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Highly organized, professional, and trustworthy team player.
  • Ability to make quick decisions and analyze data in high-pressure situations.

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift/move up to 10 lbs. frequently and up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
  • Requires close vision and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, use hands, talk, and hear.
  • Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel to regional offices and job sites based on business needs.
  • Work locations will vary depending on project requirements.
